As a student living in Beeston, I found that the Tesco in Beeston was quite convenient, because we can find almost anything and everything we need, and want in it, such as food, drinks, daily necessities, medicine, kitchenware, bedding, etc. As the typical student being on a budget, it was good to know that there may be some food being sold at a discounted price later on at night. However, I found that some food categories such as meats are a little bit more expensive than other supermarkets. Still, Tesco is my first choice because it opens for 24 hours so I don’t need have to worry about their opening hours.

Cineworld (Cinemas)

Cineworld is the largest cinema in Nottingham. My first impressions are that it is modern and comfortable. We can find the latest movies there and there are many screening time, of which some of them are at night. It is great for me to enjoy a movie in a comfortable cinema after class. Besides offering student discounts, Cineworld offers a special card for £15.90, which gives you a 10% discount off all food and drinks while allowing you to watch as many films as you like.

Coco Tang (Clubs/bars)

For me, among all the clubs in Nottingham, I love Coco Tang the most. I think the drinks are good and the music played takes most students’ fancy. Phunk’D and VE-Events always hold some parties of different theme in Coco Tang. Also, every Wednesday is student night at Coco Tang. I enjoy clubbing with my friends as a new way of entertainment which is not that common in my hometown. However, the shortcoming of Coco Tang is that it is too small which makes the dance floor really crowded.
